The location of Isoitok is remote and striking. Located near a Maasai village, the buildings and decor of the camp take inspiration from the African tribal style, while still feeling like a luxury camp/hotel. When we first arrived (after a long day of safari) we were greeted with hot towels and the most delicious ginger lemongrass drink, which we’ve been trying to replicate ever since. The food at the camp’s restaurant was fantastic as well and the staff was very attentive. The landscaping is stunning, filled with rock art and many native plants lining the walk paths. It actually felt like being in a desert garden back home in the American Southwest! One morning we went on a nature walk with a Maasai guide from the nearby village that Isoitok partners with and helps support, which was very informative. The camp also helps educate and empower Maasai women, a mission we were proud to be supporting. If you come here for safari, make sure to get back from the day’s outings in time for “bush television”, where you will sit around a campfire during sunset and watch the sights and sounds of nature.
