The People and the Land

Accommodation

We wanted to do something different than setting up another lodge or tented camp accommodation in Lake Manyara region. Combining tent design with engineering and carpentry, a magical result has been achieved by creating one of the best safari-tented camps in the Lake Manyara region. The permanent tents are thoughtfully located with plenty of bush and natural fencing to give you the seclusion and privacy you need for your Tanzanian getaway.

With only 8-luxury tent’s, you are assured of privacy, very personal service, and that “Special African Bush Experience” that you had always dreamed it to be.

We offer three types of permanent tents: Isoitok Rustic, Isoitok Deluxe, and Deluxe family. The Rustic tents are a traditional safari tent offering all the comforts you need and nothing you don’t. The deluxe range is larger, with fitted doors, timber flooring, and rock wall bathrooms. The Family tent is a stylish design with an adjoining rock wall bathroom allowing the family adventure to continue after the lights go out!! Get acquainted with all setups below.

Village Development

Isoitok Camp Manyara has forged a unique partnership with the Maasai communities surrounding the camp. Isoitok acts as a platform through which we endeavor to run small-scale, sustainable projects focused on improving the daily living standards of the communities surrounding us.

Over many years we have partnered with several foundations providing simple tools that have life-changing effects. Through client donations, we provide safe water drinking filters (Wine to Water) and low-cost portable solar lighting (A Gift of Light – Sunking solar solutions). Good Earth Trust is behind the dome slab long drop toilets that provide sanitation solutions to some of the Maasai homesteads of Esilalei. Our latest development started in June 2023 when tentative steps began in collaboration with the JustDigit Foundation. The project will focus efforts on grassland and tree rehabilitation. The villages become the guardians of such wilderness areas under serious threat of erosion and deforestation, ensuring a greener sustainable future for themselves and their precious livestock.

For any questions arising during your stay – please ask your camp host for more information in ways you wish to help. If interested in hands-on experiences, please, contact us in advance so we can suggest and help plan your stay at Isoitok. Travel and stay with purpose, bringing a different understanding of an ancient culture that hangs in the balance of an encroaching modern world.
